Clean Up

A simple cleaning routine, room by room.

Privacy policy

Effective 8 October 2026

Clean Up is an iPhone app made by Ruairidh Flint. It helps you organise recurring cleaning jobs and keep a record of when they were completed. It does not require a separate Clean Up account.

Your cleaning data

The app stores the rooms and jobs you create, their schedules, estimated durations, deferrals and completion history on your device. Reminder preferences are also stored on your device.

When iCloud is available, your rooms, jobs and history sync through Apple's CloudKit service to your private iCloud database, using your Apple Account. This lets the same Apple Account use the data across devices. The developer cannot access the contents of your private CloudKit database. Apple operates iCloud under its own privacy policy and terms.

No advertising or tracking

Clean Up contains no advertising, tracking tools, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting services. Your cleaning data is not sent to a server operated by the developer, sold, or used for advertising.

Reminders

Daily reminders are optional and require your permission. Your device schedules and delivers them locally. You can turn them off in Clean Up's Settings or in iOS notification settings.

Managing and deleting your data

You can edit or delete rooms, jobs and completion records in the app. Deleting a room also deletes its jobs and their history; deleting a job also deletes its history. Deletions sync to your private iCloud database when syncing is available. You can also manage Clean Up's iCloud data in your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings.

Your data remains until you delete it. Removing the app deletes its local data but does not necessarily delete data held in iCloud or device backups. Apple manages the retention of its backups.
